描述 | MSD offers a range of individual assays utilizing U-PLEX Antibody Sets that provide a rapid and convenient method for measuring biomarkers in complex matrices. The individual assays are offered on MSD GOLD Small Spot Streptavidin Plates and use the same antibody sets and diluents as the U-PLEX multiplex assays. This allows for efficient transfer between the individual assay and a higher throughput multiplex configuration. Typical of assays developed on the MSD platform, the individual assays have high sensitivity, excellent precision, provide up to five-logs of linear dynamic range, and require minimal sample volume. Human interleukin-1β (IL-1β), also known as IL-1F2, is a 30.7 kDa pro-inflammatory cytokine that is produced by activated macrophages. IL-1β stimulates thymocyte proliferation by inducing IL-2 release, B-cell maturation and proliferation, and fibroblast growth factor activity. Along with IL-1α, IL-1β binds directly to IL-1 RI, which is then associated with IL-1 R accessory protein (IL-1RAcP) to form a high affinity receptor complex for signal transduction. IL-1β is involved in a number of biological activities ranging from aging to wound healing. Along with IFN-γ, IL-6, and TNF-α, IL-1β is a pyrogenic cytokine that induces the production of prostaglandins, the major mediators of fever induction. The U-PLEX Human IL-1β Assay provides the components for the quantitative determination of both natural and recombinant human IL-1β in serum, plasma, and cell culture supernatants. |
