背景 | MIF (macrophage migration inhibitory factor) is a pro-inflammatory cytokine that is released during microbial infection, ARDS, rheumatoid arthritis, atherosclerosis, type 2 diabetes, and cancer. It signals through CXCR4, CXCR7, or complexes of CD74-CD44. MIF exhibits potent paracrine and autocrine stimulatory effects on cell growth and survival and enhances the production of inflammatory cytokines. It also inhibits the effectiveness of immunosuppressive glucocorticoids. |
