| 描述 | Annexin II often exists as a heterotetramer complexed with an 11kDa light chain. This p11 subunit is related to the S100 family of calcium-binding proteins but mutations have rendered it unable to bind calcium. The p11 protein binds to the amino terminus of the annexin II monomer, but not to other annexins. It may regulate the function of annexin II, as the tetrameric form seems to have a higher calcium and phospholipid-binding affinity than the monomeric annexin II. In the cell, p11 has been localized to the cytoplasmic face of the plasma membrane where the annexin II tetramer is known to exist. |
