Wild-type mice expressing a-SYN revealed significantly increased immunoreactivity for gp91PHOX compared to the other three groups. gp91PHOX immunoreactivity was localized to microglia, which appear to be close to a-SYN-expressing neurons (scale bar = 50 µm).
