| 背景 | Melanocortin 5R (MC5R) is a member of the melanocortin receptor family. The 325 amino acid G-protein-coupled 7-transmembrane glycoprotein is expressed in skeletal muscle, where engagement by a-melanocyte stimulating hormone increases glucose uptake and stimulates a thermogenic response. Expression is also found in sebaceous glands and other skin structures, and on selected hematopoietic cell lines. Human MC5R shares 80-81% amino acid sequence identity with mouse and rat MC5R. |
