| 背景 | UV radiation resistance-associated gene protein, or UVRAG, is a multi-function protein of 699 amino acids involved in the regulation of cellular pathways implicated in membrane trafficking. UVRAG activates the Beclin-1-PI3KC3 complex, a critical element in the autophagy signaling pathway. Binding studies show that UVRAG and Beclin-1 directly interact via their coiled-coil domains and that Beclin-1 functions as a platform for the formation of the Bcl-2-UVRAG-PI3KC3 complex. Chromosomal aberrations involving the UVRAG gene are associated with left-right axis malformation, and mutations in the gene have been associated with colon cancer. |
