背景 | SLC19A1, also known as Reduced Folate Carrier protein, is a multi-pass transmembrane transporter that is involved in the regulation of intracellular concentrations of folate. There is an association between idiopathic Recurrent Spontaneous Abortion (RSA) and SLC19A1 polymorphisms that may be useful biomarkers for RSA risk. Three transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. Human and mouse SLC19A1 share only 58% amino acid (aa) sequence identity, with considerable divergence over the C-terminal 100 aa. |
