背景 | CD4 is a type I membrane glycoprotein belonging to the immunoglobulin superfamily. It is expressed predominantly on thymocytes and a subset of mature T lymphocytes. CD4 functions in collaboration with the T cell receptor in the recognition of peptide antigens that are presented by class II major histocompatibility complexes. CD4 also has been shown to be a coreceptor of HIV entry and specifically binds gp120, the external envelope glycoprotein of HIV. |

Detection of CD4 in Mouse Splenocytes by Flow Cytometry. Mouse splenocytes were stained with Rat Anti-Mouse CD4 Alexa Fluor® 488‑conjugated Monoclonal Antibody (Catalog # FAB554G, open histogram) or isotype control antibody (Catalog # IC013G, filled histogram). CD4 in Mouse Splenocytes. CD4 was detected and stained in immersion fixed mouse splenocytes using Rat Anti-Mouse CD4 Alexa Fluor® 488‑conjugated Monoclonal Antibody (green, Catalog # FAB554G) at 5 μg/mL for 3 hours at room temperature. Cells were counterstained with DAPI (blue). Specific staining was localized to cell surfaces. View our protocol for Fluorescent ICC Staining of Non-adherent Cells. |
