| 描述 | The 17D9 monoclonal antibody specifically binds to mouse Caspase-11 (CASP-11/Casp11) which is also known as ICH-3. Mouse Caspase-11 is homologous to human Caspase-4 and is encoded by the mouse Casp4 (Caspase 4, apoptosis-related cysteine peptidase) gene. Caspase-11 is a cysteine protease that functions in apoptosis and inflammatory responses. Caspase-11 exists as 38 and 43 kDa pro-caspase forms, and as 30 and 10 kDa active forms. Caspase-11 is an initiator caspase that activates other caspases, including Caspase-1 [ IL-1β -converting enzyme (ICE)], Caspase-3, and Caspase-7, which are involved in executing apoptosis. When Caspase-11 is deficient, cells are unable to process or secrete Interleukin-1 β(IL-1β ) and demonstrate defective motility in response to certain stimuli. Unlike other caspases that are expressed constitutively, Caspase-11 expression can be upregulated in cells stimulated with certain activators, e.g., macrophages, lymphocytes and hepatocytes stimulated with lipopolysaccharide. |
