描述 | Aloin A is a natural bioactive anthroquinone glycoside that can be isolated from plants of the genus Aloe. The two forms of aloin, A and B, are diastereomer C-glycosides of aloe-emodin (Item No. 11677), which has potent laxative and cytotoxic properties.1,2 Studies using an undefined mixture of aloin diastereomers report that aloin has cytotoxic properties against cancer cells as well as antioxidant effects.3,4 It is absorbed after gavage in rats and reaches a peak plasma level within 1-1.5 hours after administration.5 Aloin has a bitter taste and has been studied as an agonist of bitter taste receptors.6 |
