| 描述 | Post-translational modification of histones by methylation of lysine residues can promote transcriptional activation or repression. G9a is a SET domain-containing methyltransferase that specficially mono- and di-methylates Histone H3 at lysine 9 (H3K9).1,2 Methylation of H3K9 by G9a and the related protein GLP regulates gene expression by silencing euchromatin.3 In addition, G9a is involved in regulating embryonic stem cell differentiation by silencing genes involved in pluripotency.3 |
