Shows cytotoxicity in various human cell lines and promotes apoptosis in rat C6 glioma model. Naringenin seems to protect LDL-receptor deficient mice from the obesity effects of a high-fat diet. Also lowers the plasma and hepatic cholesterol concentrations by suppressing HMG-CoA reductase and ACAT in rats fed with a high-cholesterol diet. |
