描述 | Glyburide is a sulfonylurea compound which acts as an inhibitor of ATP-dependent inwardly-rectifying potassium ion channels (IC50 = 4.3 nM).1,2 Through this action, glyburide stimulates insulin secretion from beta cells.3,4 Independent of its effects on potassium channels, glyburide (200 μM) inhibits cryopyrin inflammasome activation, preventing IL-1β and IL-18 processing and secretion.5 It also has anti-leishmanial activity.6 |
