| 描述 | Diazoxide is a potassium channel activator that causes local relaxation in smooth muscle by increasing membrane permeability to potassium ions. The cellular release of potassium switches off voltage-gated calcium ion channels which inhibits the generation of an action potential. Diazoxide relaxes rat aorta rings with an ED50 value of 19.3 μM and has been used as a vasodilator in the treatment of hypertension.1 Diazoxide also decreases the secretion of insulin by activating pancreatic β cell potassium channels and, thus, it has been used to counter hypoglycemia in certain disease states.1,2 |
