Nevirapine is an NNRTI that binds to viral reverse transcriptase and blocks polymerase activity by preventing RNA plus-strand initiation (IC50s = ~ 0.45 to 0.9 μM).1 It has been used in combination therapy with drugs directed at the treatment of opportunistic infections such as HIV.2,3 |
