| 描述 | The K vitamins are a family of fat-soluble vitamins with a common naphthoquinone base. The K2 vitamins, also known as menaquinones, have a side chain composed of a varying number of isoprenoid residues. Menaquinone 4 is the most common form of vitamin K2 and has 4 isoprenoid units. The K vitamins have important roles in blood coagulation, bone metabolism, and vascular biology, primarily through their effects on specific proteins.1,2,3 They also have anticancer effects.4,5 Vitamin K2 family members, including menaquinone 4, can be derived from the phylloquinones, also known as vitamin K1s. While they may also be obtained through diet and nutritional supplements, there are significant differences in the absorption, metabolism, and bioavailability of different menaquinones.6,1 |
