| 描述 | Angiotensin II is a peptide hormone which regulates blood pressure and fluid balance, contributing to hypertension, atherosclerosis, left ventricular hypertrophy, myocardial infarction, and heart failure.1 Valsartan is a nonpeptide angiotensin II receptor antagonist which selectively and insurmountably inhibits the angiotensin II AT1 receptor subtype (IC50 = 2.7 nM).2 It has about 20,000-fold higher affinity for AT1 over AT2 and, unlike some other AT receptor blockers, does not alter PPARγ activity or show significant drug interactions.3 Valsartan, alone or in combination therapy, has significant cardioprotective effects.4,3,5 |
