描述 | Glycodeoxycholic acid (GDCA) is a conjugated secondary bile acid that is biosynthesized through the enzymatic addition of glycine to deoxycholic acid (Item Nos. 18231|20756). GDCA is one of twenty-five plasma metabolites found to significantly differ between asthmatic subjects and healthy controls.1 Serum bile acids are elevated in patients with acetaminophen-induced acute liver failure (AALF), and GDCA is significantly increased in non-surviving AALF patients compared with survivors.2 GDCA has been shown to induce a reversible, concentration-dependent reduction in myogenic tone in rats and to suppress the expression of cytochrome P450 isoform 7A1 in rabbits.3,4 |
