| 描述 | Tetrabenazine (TBZ) is a compound that is effective in hyperkinetic disorders, including chorea related to Huntington’s disease.1 TBZ and its derivative α-dihydrotetrabenazine potently inhibit vesicular monoamine transporter 2 (VMAT2) and deplete monoamine stores.2 TBZ is orally available and undergoes rapid first-pass metabolism by hepatic carbonyl reductase to two forms of dihydrotetrabenazine, of which the α form is active.1 |
