背景 | Annexin A2 (ANXA2), also known as Annexin II andLipocortin II (LPC2), is a 39 kDa member of the Annexin family. Annexins are calcium-dependent phospholipid-binding proteins that arepreferentially located on the cytosolic face of the plasma membrane. TheAnnexins consist of a unique N-terminal domain followed by a homologousC-terminal core domain containing the phospholipid-binding sites. TheC-terminal domain is comprised of four 60-70 aa annexin repeats which form atightly packed disc known as the annexin domain. Members of the Annexin familyplay a role in cytoskeletal interactions, phospholipase inhibition, regulationof cellular growth, and intracellular signal transduction pathways (1). Annexin A2 is heavily involved in membraneorganization and traffic (2). Annexin A2 also functions as an autocrine factorto enhance osteoclast formation and bone resorption and is a major cellularsubstrate of the tyrosine kinase encoded by the SRC oncogene (3, 4). HumanAnnexin A2 shares 97% identity with mouse and rat Annexin A2. |

R&D Systems proteins are almost always sold with a bioassay to indicate activity. However, we recognize that sometimes proteins might be novel, and their bioactivity may not be well understood. In addition, some researchers may wish to use polypeptides to make antibodies. To facilitate the advancement of new science, we now offer our Innovator Series of proteins. |
