- Store at -20 °C for one year. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles. The lyophilized antibody is stable at room temperature for at least one month and for greater than a year when kept at -20°C. When reconstituted in sterile pH 7.4 0.01M PBS or diluent of antibody the antibody is stable for at least two weeks at 2-4 °C.

- background:
Cullin 2 is a member of the family of human Cullin genes (CUL1, 2, 3, 4a, 4b and 5) homologous to the S. cerevisiae cdc53 gene. It is a component of E3 ubiquitin ligase complexes, including the inactive transcriptional elongation complex SIII, which mediates the ubiquitination of hypoxia-inducible factor (HIF). SIII is formed by three subunits: Elongin C, Elongin B and VHL. Cullin 2 may serve as a rigid scaffold in the complex and may contribute to catalysis through positioning of the substrate and the ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme.
Function:
Core component of multiple cullin-RING-based ECS(ElonginB/C-CUL2/5-SOCS-box protein) E3 ubiquitin-protein ligasecomplexes, which mediate the ubiquitination of target proteins. Mayserve as a rigid scaffold in the complex and may contribute tocatalysis through positioning of the substrate and theubiquitin-conjugating enzyme. The E3 ubiquitin-protein ligaseactivity of the complex is dependent on the neddylation of thecullin subunit and is inhibited by the association of thedeneddylated cullin subunit with TIP120A/CAND1 (By similarity). Thefunctional specificity of the ECS complex depends on the substraterecognition component. ECS(VHL) mediates the ubiquitination ofhypoxia-inducible factor (HIF).

Interacts withhuman respiratory syncytial virus (HRSV) protein NS1. Found in acomplex composed of LIMD1, VHL, EGLN1/PHD2, TCEB2 AND CUL2.
Post-translational modifications:
CBC(VHL) complex formation seems to promote neddylation. Deneddylated via its interaction with the COP9 signalosome (CSN) complex.
