- Store at -20 °C for one year. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles. The lyophilized antibody is stable at room temperature for at least one month and for greater than a year when kept at -20°C. When reconstituted in sterile pH 7.4 0.01M PBS or diluent of antibody the antibody is stable for at least two weeks at 2-4 °C.

- background:
This gene product is a highly conserved protein associated with the centromere. It is a DNA-binding protein containing a helix loop helix DNA binding motif at the N-terminus, and a dimerization domain at the C-terminus. The DNA binding domain recognizes and binds a 17 bp sequence (CENPB box) in the centromeric satellite DNA. This protein is proposed to play an important role in the assembly of specific centromere structures in interphase nuclei and on mitotic chromosomes. It is also considered a major centromere autoantigen recognized by sera from patients with anti-centromere antibodies. (referenced from Entrez Gene)
Function:
Interacts with centromeric heterochromatin in chromosomes and binds to a specific subset of alphoid satellite DNA, called the CENP-B box. May organize arrays of centromere satellite DNA into a higher order structure which then directs centromere formation and kinetochore assembly in mammalian chromosomes.

Homodimer. Interacts with CENPT.
