- Store at -20 °C for one year. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles. The lyophilized antibody is stable at room temperature for at least one month and for greater than a year when kept at -20°C. When reconstituted in sterile pH 7.4 0.01M PBS or diluent of antibody the antibody is stable for at least two weeks at 2-4 °C.

- background:
This gene encodes a member of the never in mitosis gene A family of kinases. The encoded protein localizes to the nucleoli, and may function with NEK2A in the S-phase checkpoint. The encoded protein appears to play roles in DNA replication and response to genotoxic stress. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been described.[provided by RefSeq, Mar 2009]
Function:
Possible role in S-phase checkpoint mechanism.
Subcellular Location:
Nucleus. Nucleus > nucleolus. Nuclear during interphase but moves to the polar microtubules during prometaphase and metaphase. Accumulates in the nucleolus in G1/S-arrested cells.
Tissue Specificity:
Poorly expressed in cerebellum, trachea, lung, appendix, and uterus.
Post-translational modifications:
Phosphorylated.
Similarity:
Belongs to the protein kinase superfamily. NEK Ser/Thr protein kinase family. NIMA subfamily.
