- Store at -20 °C for one year. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles. The lyophilized antibody is stable at room temperature for at least one month and for greater than a year when kept at -20°C. When reconstituted in sterile pH 7.4 0.01M PBS or diluent of antibody the antibody is stable for at least two weeks at 2-4 °C.

The product of this gene is involved in the response of gonadal tissues to follicle-stimulating hormone. This gene is also a potential candidate for human X-linked disorders of gonadal development and gametogenesis. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Function:
CENPI is a constitutive protein of the knetochore that shares limited similarity with Mis6 of S. pombe. The kinetochore is a macromolecular complex located at the centromere of chromosomes and provides essential functions for chromosome segregration. CENPI is required for the localization of CENPF and the checkpoint proteins MAD1 and MAD2 to the kinetochore.

Post-translational modifications:
Sumoylated. Sumoylated form can be polyubiquitinated by RNF4, leading to its degradation. Desumoylation by SENP6 prevents its degradation.
