- Store at -20 °C for one year. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles. The lyophilized antibody is stable at room temperature for at least one month and for greater than a year when kept at -20°C. When reconstituted in sterile pH 7.4 0.01M PBS or diluent of antibody the antibody is stable for at least two weeks at 2-4 °C.

- background:
NDUFA6 is a 128 amino acid protein that localizes to the matrix side of the mitochondrial membrane and belongs to the complex I LYR family. Existing as a subunit of the multi-protein membrane respiratory chain NADH dehydrogenase complex (Complex I), NDUFA6 functions as an accessory protein that facilitates the transfer of electrons from NADH to the respiratory chain. The gene encoding NDUFA6 maps to human chromosome 22, which houses over 500 genes and is the second smallest human chromosome. Mutations in several of the genes that map to chromosome 22 are involved in the development of Phelan-McDermid syndrome, Neurofibromatosis type 2, autism and schizophrenia.
Function:
Accessory subunit of the mitochondrial membrane respiratory chain NADH dehydrogenase (Complex I), that is believed to be not involved in catalysis. Complex I functions in the transfer of electrons from NADH to the respiratory chain. The immediate electron acceptor for the enzyme is believed to be ubiquinone.
