It is expressed on cells of epithelial origin, epithelium-derived tumor cells1, circulating tumor cells, and cancer stem cells. Moreover , EpCAM is expressed on mouse embryonic stem cells and was described as a marker for the identification of successfully reprogrammed induced pluripotent stem cells (iPS)2. |
