- Store at -20 °C for one year. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles. The lyophilized antibody is stable at room temperature for at least one month and for greater than a year when kept at -20°C. When reconstituted in sterile pH 7.4 0.01M PBS or diluent of antibody the antibody is stable for at least two weeks at 2-4 °C.

Sphingosine-1-phosphate (S1P) is a bioactive sphingolipid metabolite that regulates diverse biologic processes. SGPP1 catalyzes the degradation of S1P via salvage and recycling of sphingosine into long-chain ceramides (Mandala et al., 2000 [PubMed 10859351]; Le Stunff et al., 2007 [PubMed 17895250]).[supplied by OMIM, Jun 2009]
Function:
Sphingosine-1-phosphate phosphatase 1 (Spp1) regulates intracellular and extracellular sphingosine 1 phosphate(S1P)levels. It belongs to the type 2 lipid phosphate phosphatase family and is expressed in the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) membrane.
Subunit:
Has specific phosphohydrolase activity towards sphingoid base 1-phosphates. Has high phosphohydrolase activity against dihydrosphingosine-1-phosphate and sphingosine-1-phosphate (S1P) in vitro. May play a role in attenuating intracellular sphingosine 1-phosphate (S1P) signaling. May play a role in pro-inflammatory signaling.
Subcellular Location:
Endoplasmic reticulum membrane
Tissue Specificity:
Expressed strongly in kidney and heart, followed by brain, colon, small intestine and lung. Not detected in skeletal muscle, thymus, spleen, liver, placenta, and peripheral blood leukocytes.
Similarity:
Belongs to the type 2 lipid phosphate phosphatasefamily.
