- Store at -20 °C for one year. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles. The lyophilized antibody is stable at room temperature for at least one month and for greater than a year when kept at -20°C. When reconstituted in sterile pH 7.4 0.01M PBS or diluent of antibody the antibody is stable for at least two weeks at 2-4 °C.

- background:
This gene encodes a member of a family of transcription factors which regulate the expression of genes required for progression through the cell cycle. The encoded protein regulates progression from G1 to S phase by ensuring the nucleus divides at the proper time. Multiple alternatively spliced variants, encoding the same protein, have been identified. [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2012].
Function:
Along with E2F7, inhibitor of E2F-dependent transcription. Binds DNA independently of DP proteins through the E2 recognition site, 5-TTTC[CG]CGC-3. Directly represses E2F1 transcription. Appears to regulate a subset of E2F-dependent genes whose products are required for normal cell cycle progession.
Subunit:
Forms heterodimers with E2F7 and, to a lesser extent, homodimers. Dimerization is important for DNA binding.

Nucleus.
