| 背景 | Corticosterone, also known as Kendalls compound B and Reichstein substance B, is a glucocorticoid secreted by the adrenal gland cortex. It is produced in response to adrenal cortex stimulation by adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) and is the precursor of aldosterone. Stress increases corticosteroid production. Corticosterone level is measured as an indicator of stress in patients with dietary restrictions, long-term memory impairment, and burn injuries. |
