| 背景 | ChABC (Chondroitinase ABC) is a bacterial enzyme that has been used for decades, mostly for biochemical characterization of chondroitin sulfate proteoglycans (CSPG). This enzyme degrades the sugar chains attached to the proteoglycan core protein. More recently, ChABC has been used to therapeutically degrade and inactivate CSPG in vivo. CSPGs are involved in a variety of biological processes and play a major inhibitory role in regeneration in the nervous system. For instance, CSPGs have been implicated in preventing regeneration after spinal cord injury. Injection of ChABC at the site of spinal cord injury has improved recovery in numerous animal models. ChABC antibodies serve as tools to help determine the ChABC distribution and content in tissues. |
