- Store at -20 °C for one year. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles. The lyophilized antibody is stable at room temperature for at least one month and for greater than a year when kept at -20°C. When reconstituted in sterile pH 7.4 0.01M PBS or diluent of antibody the antibody is stable for at least two weeks at 2-4 °C.

- background:
CEGA is a 437 amino acid human homolog of Era. Functioning as a probable GTP-binding protein, ERAL1 contains the same structural domains as its yeast counterpart, namely a conserved BoxA sequence, a C-terminal KH domain and an N-terminal GTP-binding domain. Due to the high level of structural similarity with Era, ERAL1 may participate in cell cycle events, including cellular proliferation and cell division. ERAL1 contains one KH type-2 domain and is expressed as two isoforms, designated HERA-A and HERA-B, which are produced due to alternative splicing events.
Function:
Probable GTPase that plays a role in the mitochondrial ribosomal small subunit assembly. Specifically binds the 12S mitochondrial rRNA (12S mt-rRNA) to a 33 nucleotide section delineating the 3 terminal stem-loop region. May act as a chaperone that protects the 12S mt-rRNA on the 28S mitoribosomal subunit during ribosomal small subunit assembly.

Mitochondrion matrix. Mitochondrion inner membrane. Localizes on the matrix side on the mitochondrial inner membrane.

Belongs to the Era/MnmE GTP-binding protein family. Era subfamily.
