- Store at -20 °C for one year. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles. The lyophilized antibody is stable at room temperature for at least one month and for greater than a year when kept at -20°C. When reconstituted in sterile pH 7.4 0.01M PBS or diluent of antibody the antibody is stable for at least two weeks at 2-4 °C.

- background:
Gamma-endorphin is a polypeptide that is characterized by the presence of 17 amino acids, only one more than alpha-endorphin. Similar to other endorphins, research focusing upon gamma-endorphin has been ongoing since its discovery in the 1970s. However, most of the information about the its exact role within the body is speculation that has yet to be proven. Some studies have indicated, that the polypeptide has antipsychotic effects on a certain category of patients suffering from schizophrenia, while others suggest that gamma-endorphin may act to help regulate blood pressure.
Function:
ACTH stimulates the adrenal glands to release cortisol.
MSH (melanocyte-stimulating hormone) increases the pigmentation of skin by increasing melanin production in melanocytes.
Beta-endorphin and Met-enkephalin are endogenous opiates.

Secreted.
