- Store at -20 °C for one year. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles. The lyophilized antibody is stable at room temperature for at least one month and for greater than a year when kept at -20°C. When reconstituted in sterile pH 7.4 0.01M PBS or diluent of antibody the antibody is stable for at least two weeks at 2-4 °C.

- background:
TRPC channels form the subfamily of channels in human most closely related to drosophila TRP channels. Structurally, this family shares a number of similar characteristics. At the proximal C-terminus of this sub-family is a TRP box motif containing the invariant EWKFAR sequence and between 3 and 4 ankyrin repeats near the N-terminus. These channels are non-selectively permeable to cations, with a selectivity of calcium over sodium variable among the different members. Many of TRPC channel subunits are able to coassemble.
Function:
Thought to form a receptor-activated non-selective calcium permeant cation channel. Probably is operated by a phosphatidylinositol second messenger system activated by receptor tyrosine kinases or G-protein coupled receptors. Activated by diacylglycerol (DAG) in a membrane-delimited fashion, independently of protein kinase C, and by inositol-1,4,5-triphosphate receptors (ITPR) with bound IP3. May also be activated by internal calcium store depletion.
Subunit:
Interacts with TRPC1, ITPR1, ITPR3, MX1 and RNF24. Interacts with JPH2; the interaction is involved in maintaining Ca(2+) homeostasis in skeletal muscle and is mediated by JPH2 Ser-165 phosphorylation.

Tissue Specificity:
Expressed predominantly in brain and at much lower levels in ovary, colon, small intestine, lung, prostate, placenta and testis.

Contains 4 ANK repeats.
